Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen spoke with Israeli Foreign Minister Saar
Copenhagen, November 22 (Hibya) - Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen had a phone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen discussed with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar the situation in the Middle East and the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.
Rasmussen emphasized that Denmark is a strong supporter of the International Criminal Court and supports its independence. He said, "Denmark clearly fulfills its obligations under international law. If there are suspicions of international crimes, they must be investigated and prosecuted if necessary."
Rasmussen also noted that they discussed the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, the need for a ceasefire, improving access to humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages. He added, "I had the opportunity to call on Israel to pay more attention to ceasefire negotiations in Lebanon. We agreed to continue our discussions in Israel in the near future."
