Dar holds phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang
Islamabad, June 24 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar congratulated Wang Yi on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
The two sides discussed the Iran–US peace process and regional developments. They also reviewed the first round of high-level talks held in Bürgenstock under the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar.
The statement noted that the talks paved the way for the establishment of a high-level coordination committee under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and that three working groups were formed on nuclear issues, sanctions, and dispute resolution.
The Pakistani side also expressed appreciation for China’s support for the peace process and for President Xi Jinping’s peace initiatives.
