The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.66 percent to 51,179.87 points. The S&P 500 index fell 0.22 percent to 7,801.77 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index decreased 0.22 percent to 27,538.691 points, while the Nasdaq 100 index dropped 0.21 percent to 31,160.076 points.
The Russell 2000 index also lost 1.31 percent, falling to 2,793.204 points.
