Elementary school student killed in armed school attack in Russia
Moscow, December 16 (Hibya) – According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, an elementary school student was killed in an armed attack carried out by an individual at a school in the city of Odintsovo near Moscow.
The statement said: “This morning, at an educational institution in the village of Gorki-2 in the Odintsovo urban district, a child attacked a security guard and a student with a knife. The child died from the injuries sustained.”
According to the Interior Ministry, the student first attacked a security guard, sprayed pepper spray in his face, and then injured a 10-year-old child. The attacker was detained and handed over to investigative authorities.
Students were evacuated to the Youth Center across from the school building. According to Moscow Region Children’s Ombudsman Ksenia Mishonova, all parents and children will be provided with the necessary assistance.
