Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said after the meetings held in Berlin that expectations for a ceasefire in Ukraine have increased, adding: “The real question is whether Putin is willing to take steps toward peace.”

Schoof stated: “We must continue to increase pressure on Russia and fully support Ukraine so that it can continue its fight for as long as necessary.”

Noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated these messages during his visit to the Netherlands, Schoof said: “With the establishment of this commission, we are examining the steps that need to be taken once peace is achieved.”

Referring to the Netherlands’ stance, Schoof added: “The Netherlands will continue to be closely involved in all areas and remain a loyal partner of Ukraine.”
