EU Commission President Leyen: Europe stands with Mayotte
Brussels, December 20 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Europe stands with the French colony of Mayotte, affected by Cyclone Chido.
President Leyen expressed support for Mayotte, noting that aid from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, and Italy was sent to the island via the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
She emphasized that tents and beds were sent to provide shelter for those who lost everything due to the cyclone.
