Lahbib: The EU will continue to support UNRWA
Brussels, December 20 (Hibya) - European Union Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that the EU will continue to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib held a phone call with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.
During the discussion, Lahbib reiterated the EU's full support for UNRWA and the rules-based system, stating:
“The EU will continue to support UNRWA. This agency is irreplaceable. Additionally, the need for predictable funding due to Knesset legislation and the decision of some donors to stop funding UNRWA was also discussed.”
