Eurostar train services resume
London, December 31 (Hibya) – Eurostar train services, which were suspended due to a power supply failure in the Channel Tunnel, have gradually begun to resume.
According to CCTV, Europe’s high-speed rail operator Eurostar announced that services through the Channel Tunnel connecting the United Kingdom with mainland Europe partially resumed as of Tuesday following the power supply issue.
Despite the restart of services, company officials warned that delays may continue and last-minute cancellations could still occur.
Images shared from London’s St. Pancras International railway station showed the usually busy terminal largely empty, with Eurostar trains being held. The suspension of operations on this strategic route linking the UK with countries such as France, Belgium and the Netherlands disrupted the travel plans of thousands of passengers.
According to official data, approximately 19.5 million passengers traveled from St. Pancras International to mainland Europe last year.
