Fletcher: Blocking aid to Gaza leaves civilians hungry and without medical support
New York, May 1 (Hibya) – UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher said that blocking aid to Gaza would leave civilians hungry and deprived of medical assistance.
Fletcher emphasized that preventing aid to Gaza would result in hunger among civilians.
He added that this would deprive the people of Gaza of basic medical care, stating: "It destroys their dignity and hope. It is a cruel form of collective punishment. Blocking aid kills."
