Gerapetritis: Cooperation and the EU process are of critical importance in Southeast Europe
Sofia, June 10 (Hibya) - Greek Foreign Minister Yorgos Gerapetritis highlighted regional cooperation, security, and the EU integration of the Western Balkans during the SEECP Summit held in Sofia.
Gerapetritis made remarks within the framework of the SEECP Summit and the Meeting of Foreign Ministers.
Commenting on the meeting held in Sofia, Gerapetritis stated that Southeast Europe is a region of critical importance for stability and prosperity.
The minister emphasized that increasing dialogue and cooperation among the countries of the region is important for reducing tensions and strengthening shared prosperity.
In his statement, he noted that issues such as energy, connectivity, security, and common defense were on the agenda, alongside the European Union integration process of the Western Balkans.
Gerapetritis stated that Greece continues its initiatives aimed at accelerating the Western Balkans’ accession to the European Union, stressing that regional cooperation is a fundamental element for lasting peace and stability.
