Ghebreyesus: Charities play a key role in addressing health issues
Geneva, May 5 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized that charities play a key role in addressing major global health challenges.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that charities play a critical role in tackling global health issues.
In his statement, Ghebreyesus said, “I thank Temasek Trust and Philanthropy Asia Alliance for organizing the PAA2025 event and for inviting me. I had three core calls to the participants: to not only address specific health issues but also to work with countries to build their capacity on the path to financial self-reliance; to collaborate with WHO to sustain the high-quality technical expertise and field presence that many countries rely on; and to act collaboratively and in coordination to maximize their impact and reach.”
