Ghebreyesus: One in seven adolescents worldwide faces mental health issues
Geneva, November 28 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that one in seven adolescents worldwide is experiencing mental health problems.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that one in seven adolescents globally has mental health issues, and suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people aged 15 to 29.
Ghebreyesus emphasized that WHO and UNICEF guidance shows how every country can improve access to mental health services and their quality for children and youth.
