Ghebreyesus: Time to silence the guns and raise voices for peace


Geneva, May 9 (Hibya) - Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that conflicts lasting over a year in Sudan have led the country into a humanitarian catastrophe.

Director-General of the WHO, Tedros Ghebreyesus, expressed that more than a third of the population is facing severe hunger, noting there is a famine risk in Darfur and Khartoum.

Ghebreyesus said, "Time to silence the guns and raise voices for peace. The best medicine is peace."
