Ghebreyesus: We provided 40,000 liters of fuel and medical supplies for 6 hospitals in Gaza
Geneva, October 30 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that they provided 40,000 liters of fuel and medical supplies for 6 hospitals in Gaza City.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza is receiving a continuous flow of trauma patients due to the ongoing hostilities in the region, and the hospital has only one pediatrician, one orthopedic surgeon, and a limited number of nurses.
Ghebreyesus noted that the hospital building and equipment were damaged during the latest siege, and four ambulances were destroyed, adding:
“We provided medical supplies, food, and water for the patients at Kamal Adwan Hospital. However, much more is needed. Additionally, this week, we also provided 40,000 liters of fuel and medical supplies for 6 hospitals in Gaza City.”
Ghebreyesus added: “I repeat: the only way to protect Gaza’s healthcare system from collapse is an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. Lives depend on it.”
