Guterres: Exploitation in the use of natural resources must end
New York, July 22 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said producer countries and affected communities should receive a greater share of the added value generated from the extraction and use of natural resources.
United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the way natural resources are extracted, processed, brought to market, and used to be reorganized.
Guterres said it must be ensured that producer countries and communities affected by natural resources receive a greater share of the added value generated.
Calling for a fairer approach to the management of natural resources, Guterres said, "Exploitation and plunder must now come to an end."
