Guterres: Haven't civilians been exposed to enough death and destruction?
New York, May 8 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, highlighting civilians killed in the war in Israel and Palestine, called for a ceasefire.
Guterres recalled that since October 7, more than 1100 people have been killed in Israel and over 34,000 in Gaza, saying:
"Haven't civilians been exposed to enough death and destruction? The international community is responsible for promoting a humanitarian ceasefire, unconditional release of all hostages, and a significant increase in life-saving aid".
