Guterres: We welcome the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza
New York, January 16 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he welcomes the start of the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza announced by the United States.
In his statement, Guterres stressed that humanitarian aid must reach Gaza without impediments and underscored the importance of the full implementation of all aspects of the ceasefire.
Noting that the ceasefire should pave the way toward lasting peace, Guterres said it is essential to open an irreversible path toward a two-state solution within the framework of international law.
