Harris and Trump Agree to Debate on ABC in September
Washington, August 9 (Hibya) - ABC News has confirmed that Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will face each other for the first time on television in a debate on September 10.
Political scientists agree that this event, expected to draw a large audience, could be a turning point for both candidates, as polls indicate a very tight race.
Kamala Harris said in an interview with reporters in Michigan on Thursday, “I am looking forward to debating Donald Trump and we have set the date for September 10. I finally heard that he is determined on this and I am looking forward to it.”
The former president had previously agreed to appear in a debate with Joe Biden on ABC News, but said he would back down after the president withdrew from the election campaign.
On Thursday, Trump said at a press conference that he is willing to debate Harris three times in September on ABC, Fox News, and NBC.
