IDF: Hamas did not return the correct body
Stockholm, February 21 (Hibya) - In a post on X, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that one of the four hostages handed over by Hamas on Thursday was not the expected mother, Shiri Bibas.
Hamas had previously claimed that Bibas and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir, had died.
The IDF reported that they had identified the children's bodies but that the third body did not belong to their mother. Military sources stated that the body was anonymous and its identity had not been determined. This claim has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.
The IDF is now accusing Hamas of violating the agreement and is demanding the return of Shiri Bibas to Israel.
Hamas has not yet commented on this information.
