According to a statement from the IDF, the IDF and Shin Bet neutralized the commander of the Shujaia Brigade of the Palestinian Islamic Movement.

The statement read:

"IDF and Shin Bet carried out an attack on the Shujaia area yesterday, killing terrorist Mohammed El-Acelah, who replaced the former commander of the Shujaia Brigade of the Palestinian Islamic Movement, Heitam Rizk Abd al-Karim Sheikh Khalil, who was killed last week. El-Acelah had taken over the position after the previous commander was killed. The IDF and Shin Bet will continue their determined fight against members of the Hamas terrorist organization."
