The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated the African Union on successfully concluding the 38th AU Summit, held on February 15-16, 2025, and wished success to the new African Union President, Angola, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Djibouti, and the Vice President, Algeria.

In a statement issued by Iran, it was said: "The recent meeting held on February 20, 2025, in Tehran between the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the ambassadors of African countries demonstrates Iran's commitment to strengthening relations and expanding cooperation with African nations based on mutual interests."
