Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi met with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen
Tehran, January 12 (Hibya) - The UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi during his visit to Tehran.
During the meeting, Araghchi reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the United Nations' role and efforts to improve the situation in Yemen.
He condemned the repeated airstrikes by the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel on Yemen's infrastructure, describing them as blatant violations of Yemen's territorial integrity and national sovereignty, as well as serious breaches of international law and the UN Charter.
The UN Special Envoy for Yemen expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its stance and commitment to stability and security in the region, particularly in Yemen. He also provided a briefing on his recent visit to Sana’a and outlined the UN's actions and initiatives aimed at establishing peace and stability in Yemen.
Grundberg further emphasized the importance and necessity of continuing consultations and dialogue with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
