Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Baghaei condemns accusations against Iran at G7 meeting
Tehran, November 27 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei strongly condemned and rejected accusations made against the Islamic Republic of Iran in a section of the G7 Foreign Ministers' statement in Rome.
Baghaei emphasized that the content of this statement reflects the unlawful, unfair, unilateral, discriminatory, and coercive approaches of some G7 members, causing irreparable harm to international peace and security. He noted that a clear example of these irresponsible approaches is the extensive support by some G7 members for the war crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza and Lebanon.
Baghaei added that, unfortunately, the dual and selective actions of influential G7 members on various international issues seriously undermine the principle of the rule of law in international relations.
He highlighted that the global community demands justice, equality, respect for human dignity, and adherence to the principles and norms of international law. Baghaei stressed that G7 does not represent the international community and lacks the moral authority to preach on global human rights violations, especially given its hypocritical approach to severe human rights and humanitarian law violations in occupied Palestine and Lebanon.
The Iranian Foreign Minister asserted that Iran has the legitimate right to respond to any external aggression based on the UN Charter and international law. He also stated that Iran has the right to respond to aggression by the Israeli regime against its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Finally, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will make every effort to fulfill its responsibilities in ensuring regional security and stability .
