Israel to Provide Emergency Humanitarian Aid to South Sudan
Jerusalem, August 18 (Hibya) – The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, under the instructions of Minister Gideon Saar, the country will provide emergency humanitarian aid to South Sudan.
In a statement, the ministry noted that in light of the severe humanitarian crisis in South Sudan and under the guidance of Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, the national aid agency MASHAV will deliver emergency humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable population of the country.
The statement emphasized that South Sudan is currently facing a cholera outbreak and a serious shortage of resources:
“The aid will include medical supplies necessary for treating patients, water purification equipment, gloves and face masks, as well as special hygiene kits aimed at preventing cholera. Food packages will also be distributed. As part of the aid operation, MASHAV will cooperate with the Israeli NGO IsraAID, which is active in the country.”
