Jerusalem, December 30 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar held a phone conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar reported that he held a phone conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.
Saar stated that they discussed the situation in Syria and emphasized the urgent need to protect Syrian minorities, including Kurds, Alawites, and Christians. He added:
"I pointed out that the new Damascus government was not democratically elected. However, what is even more concerning is that they announced elections would take place only in 4 years… I also emphasized Israel’s intention to secure a hostage exchange in Gaza. I invited my Greek counterpart to visit Israel soon, and we agreed to stay in close contact."
