Jelyazkov: The constitutional process should not turn into a political spectacle
Sofia, January 16 (Hibya) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Jelyazkov emphasized that the election process should be carried out without delay and in accordance with the constitutional framework.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Jelyazkov, whose term has ended, stated that the constitutional process related to the elections should not turn into a political spectacle.
Jelyazkov called for the elections to be held as soon as possible, saying, "In line with the agreement reached, it is important to go to the elections as soon as possible; we should not waste public expectations with different procedural processes. If it is believed that the interim government will gain new legitimacy to exercise executive power, this government should be appointed more quickly."
Jelyazkov noted that the delay of elections does not serve public expectations and makes it more difficult for the executive branch to fulfill its commitments and legislative goals more effectively.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government will continue to perform its duties until the appointment of the interim cabinet, adding that it should work responsibly and should not become an actor in the election process.
