Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine and Portugal have published a joint statement on establishing a partnership for the production of maritime unmanned aerial vehicles.

Assessing the cooperation, Zelensky said: “This is currently one of the most promising areas of our defense efforts. Achieving results is important. Across Europe, there must be sufficient strength to counter any threat, and modern unmanned aerial vehicles are a real tool of defense.”

Zelensky also referred to Portugal’s contributions, saying: “I am grateful to Portugal for its contributions to the PURL initiative, which enables us to purchase American weapons. Portugal also supported the joint European decision on a concrete financial security guarantee of 90 billion euros for Ukraine for the coming years.”
