Kallas: We continue our solidarity with Denmark and Greenland
Brussels, December 22 (Hibya) – The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, made a statement regarding the status of Greenland.
The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, provided assessments on the status of Greenland.
Kallas said: “We continue our solidarity with Denmark and Greenland.”
Regarding Greenland’s status, Kallas stated: “Greenland is an autonomous region within the Kingdom of Denmark. Any change to this status can only be decided by Greenlanders and Danes.”
Emphasizing international law, Kallas added: “We expect our partners to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity and to comply with their international obligations, particularly the United Nations Charter and the North Atlantic Treaty.”
