Lahbib: The EU will continue its strong support for Lebanon
Brussels, May 9 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib emphasized the EU’s determination in aid and support processes, drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon.
European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib praised the efforts of the Lebanese people and government in the face of destruction in the region and referred to the dedicated work of humanitarian aid teams on the ground.
Assessing the situation in Lebanon, Lahbib said, “The people and government of Lebanon, faced with destruction, took action while risking themselves.”
Highlighting the sacrifices of the teams working on the ground, Lahbib stated, “Red Cross teams are working day and night to save lives. Even if it means risking their own lives.”
Lahbib summarized the union’s stance with the words: “The EU will continue its strong support.”
