Lahbib: The Rohingya deserve protection, hope and lasting solutions
Brussels, July 16 (Hibya) – European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said that the deepening humanitarian crisis in Myanmar is forcing the Rohingya to undertake dangerous sea journeys, noting that many people lost their lives in the latest boat tragedy.

Lahbib said: “Another boat tragedy. Once again, lives have been lost at sea.”
Stressing that behind the tragedy are Rohingya people deprived of security, dignity and hope for the future, Lahbib said: “The deepening humanitarian crisis in Myanmar is driving the Rohingya into desperate journeys. The Rohingya deserve protection, hope and lasting solutions.”
