Lahbib: We must move toward early recovery without compromising humanitarian principles
Brussels, July 18 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that she had held meetings with local humanitarian partners.
European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stressed that the essential work carried out by local partners is being conducted under immense pressure and that humanitarian needs on the ground remain extremely high.
Sharing her assessment of partnerships and the new phase of crisis management, Lahbib said, "We had excellent meetings with our local humanitarian partners. My partners' partners are also my partners. Your essential work has been carried out under tremendous pressure."
Emphasizing the strategic direction of humanitarian assistance and the importance of upholding principles, Lahbib stated, "The needs remain enormous. We must move from emergency response to early recovery without ever compromising humanitarian principles."
