Lazzarini: Let the UN and its partners do their job
New York, August 5 (Hibya) - Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated that the United Nations and its partners must be allowed to do their job.
Lazzarini noted that before the famine spread, partner-supported community distribution centers delivered food and aid to 2 million people across the Gaza Strip.
"Five months later, due to ongoing efforts to replace the UN-coordinated aid mechanism with four Israeli military distribution points, hunger has become the latest cause of death in Gaza. It is now time for unimpeded, safe, and dignified aid. Let the United Nations and its partners do their job," he said.
