Lebanese President Aoun receives joint delegation from Qatar, the UK and France
Beirut, June 18 (Hibya) - Lebanese President Joseph Aoun discussed the country’s sovereignty, stability and humanitarian support processes during his meeting with a tripartite ministerial delegation from Qatar, the United Kingdom and France.
Aoun received a joint ministerial delegation from Qatar, the United Kingdom and France in Beirut.
The delegation included Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, UK Foreign Office representative Jenny Chapman, and France’s Minister Delegate for Francophonie and International Partnerships at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Eleonore Caroit.
During the meeting, recent developments in Lebanon were discussed, while a message of support was conveyed for the country’s sovereignty and stability. The parties emphasized the importance of complying with ceasefire arrangements under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
Qatar’s representative Al Misnad stated that her country’s support for Lebanon continues, noting that humanitarian and development assistance is being sustained in cooperation with international partners.
The statement said Qatar has provided a total of approximately $434 million in humanitarian and development support to Lebanon, and that emergency assistance has recently been delivered to nearly 1 million displaced people.
The meeting emphasized that increasing international cooperation and investments in education and health play an important role in preventing crises.
