Leyen: EU stands by Cyprus in the fight against major wildfires
Brussels, July 24 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the European Union stands by Cyprus as it battles major wildfires.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU stands with Cyprus in its fight against major forest fires.
She noted that emergency assistance was provided through the Civil Protection Mechanism, saying: “This summer, a #rescEU fleet composed of 22 aircraft and 4 helicopters has been deployed to countries in need, along with around 670 firefighters from 14 countries.”
