Lula brings together leading figures of Brazilian culture
New York, September 24 (Hibya) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met with numerous figures from the country’s cultural and artistic community. Lula said culture helps society understand its history and shape its future.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva commented on a gathering attended by numerous artists and cultural workers from the country.
Lula said issues including culture, identity, memory, sovereignty, diversity and the future were discussed with figures including Chico Buarque, Zeca Pagodinho, Daniela Mercury, Margareth Menezes, Russo Passapusso, Delacruz, Beth Mendes and Benedita da Silva.
Lula said, “Culture is also this: love transformed into creation, labor, resistance and a people’s recognition of their own history.”
