Merz: We must resolutely say no to antisemitism
Berlin, December 14 (Hibya) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that antisemitism must be firmly opposed in Germany and around the world.
German Chancellor Merz said that the antisemitic attack carried out during Hanukkah at Bondi Beach deeply horrified him, adding: “My thoughts are with those who lost their lives and with their families.”
Stating that the attack was directed against shared values, Merz said: “We must resolutely say no to antisemitism here in Germany and across the world.”
Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said in a statement on the issue:
“I am deeply horrified by the terrorist attack carried out against the Jewish community in Sydney. I stand in solidarity with those who lost their lives and their families, as well as with the people and the Government of Australia. Hatred, antisemitism and violence have no place in our societies.”
