Metsola: The Iranian people deserve freedom
Brussels, 14 February (Hibya) - European Parliament President Roberta Metsola criticized the repressive policies of the current regime in Iran and expressed support for the Iranian people's struggle for freedom.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola issued a statement regarding developments in Iran and the demands of its people.
Metsola stated that the coming period for Iran should be defined by freedom and criticized the methods of the current administration.
Metsola said, "The next period for Iran must be defined by freedom. A regime that tries to cling to power by killing Iranians who seek freedom, torturing opponents, and cutting off communication is a desperate regime that knows its days of repression are numbered."
She concluded her statement by saying, "The Iranian people have suffered enough. They deserve freedom."
