MI6 Chief: Abandoning Ukraine Will Lead to "Infinitely High" Costs
Paris, November 30 (Hibya) - The head of the British intelligence agency MI6 (Secret Intelligence Service), Richard Moore, warned in his speech yesterday that abandoning Ukraine would jeopardize British, European, and American security and result in "infinitely high" costs in the long term.
In a rare speech, Richard Moore said that in any peace talks involving the new US Republican administration, Vladimir Putin must not be allowed to subjugate Ukraine, as he "will not stop."
Speaking alongside his French counterpart in Paris, Moore stated, "If Putin succeeds in reducing Ukraine to a vassal state, he will not stop there. Our security (British, French, European, and transatlantic) will be at risk."
Moore added, "The cost of supporting Ukraine is well known. But the cost of inaction will be much higher. If Putin succeeds, China will weigh the consequences, North Korea will be emboldened, and Iran will become even more dangerous."
At the British Embassy in Paris, Moore told his audience: "For decades, the US-UK intelligence alliance has made our societies safer; I successfully worked with the first Trump administration to enhance our shared security and look forward to doing so again."
