Milatovic: Justice will not be in the hands of parties
Podgorica, July 24 (Hibya) – President Jakov Milatovic stated that the constitutional crisis is deepening and emphasized that the Constitutional Court must be the protector of all citizens, not of political parties.
Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic said that justice will no longer be in the hands of political parties in the country.
Milatovic stated that a government lawyer targeting an attorney merely for doing his job reminded him of past political campaigns.
The President noted that every citizen has the legal right to a lawyer, and every lawyer has the right to perform their duty without fear.
He said the Constitutional Court is the guardian of Montenegro's constitutional order and should serve the interests of all citizens, not political parties.
Jakov Milatovic added that Parliament has been deepening the constitutional crisis for a year, which he described as a blow to the constitutional order.
The President emphasized that the Constitutional Court will not become an instrument of any party or private interest.
