The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the recent statements by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul, acknowledging the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, severe violations of international humanitarian law, and the urgent need for unrestricted humanitarian aid.

In the ministry's statement: "At such a critical time, decisive actions supported by clear statements from the international community serve as a powerful catalyst not only for achieving the urgently needed ceasefire but also for outlining a credible roadmap toward the long-delayed two-state solution. This solution is the sole guarantee of genuine peace, dignity, and security for all peoples in the region."
