Palestinian Prime Minister Mustafa met with UN Secretary-General Guterres
Addis Ababa, February 15 (Hibya) – Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa discussed the latest developments in Palestine with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 39th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
On February 14, 2026, as part of the 39th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Prime Minister Mustafa met with UN Secretary-General Guterres. The meeting was also attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Observer to the African Union, Faris Al-Qub.
During the meeting, Mustafa briefed Guterres particularly on the severe humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, as well as the ongoing Israeli occupation and settler attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of implementing international resolutions regarding Palestine, emphasizing the need to enforce UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which calls for a ceasefire, unrestricted entry of urgent humanitarian aid and relief supplies, and the initiation of the reconstruction process.
The meeting also addressed daily military operations in the West Bank, checkpoints, movement restrictions, settler attacks, the withholding of Palestinian revenues, and annexation and settlement expansion plans.
Prime Minister Mustafa also highlighted the importance of continuing UNRWA’s work, ensuring the delivery of services to Palestinian refugees, and strengthening coordination between the State of Palestine and UN institutions.
