In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index gained 1.14 percent to 25,786.32 points.
In India, the Nifty 50 index is up 0.53 percent at 24,205.80 points.
In Australia, the ASX 200 index rose 0.15 percent to 9,067.60 points, while China's Shanghai Composite index is trading at 3,905.226 points, up 0.28 percent.
