Prevot commemorates victims of the Rwandan Genocide
Brussels, April 7 (Hibya) – Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot commemorated those who lost their lives in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide on April 7, emphasizing the importance of remembrance to prevent similar atrocities from happening again.
Belgian Foreign Minister Prevot issued a message to commemorate the victims of the genocide against the Tutsi people in Rwanda on April 7, 1994. He stated that preventing such crimes against humanity from recurring is a shared responsibility and reiterated Belgium’s determination to fight injustice and denial.
Prevot also paid tribute to ten Belgian paratroopers who were killed in Kigali in 1994 while carrying out peacekeeping duties. The minister expressed that remembering and ensuring justice is an ongoing duty for humanity.
