Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to athletes, coaches, staff and veteran members of the Russian Paralympic Committee on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.

Putin noted that over the years the Russian Paralympic Committee has taken on an important mission with a strong social dimension, and that these honorable goals have brought together thousands of people with disabilities, involved them in adapted physical activity programs, and helped them fully realize their talents while demonstrating strong character and an indomitable spirit.

Stressing that this consistent and high-quality work has enabled Russian athletes to achieve significant successes at world and European championships and at the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, Putin said he was pleased that Russian Paralympians are now once again competing in major international events with their national symbols, flags and anthems.
