Qatar Welcomes the Election of Joseph Aoun as President of Lebanon
Doha, January 9 (Hibya) - The State of Qatar welcomed the election of Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun as the new President of the Lebanese Republic.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs wished the new Lebanese President success in his role and expressed its desire to develop and strengthen relations between the two brotherly nations.
The Ministry also expressed its hope that the end of the presidential vacancy in Lebanon would contribute to achieving security and stability, as well as fulfilling the aspirations of the Lebanese people for progress, development, and prosperity.
The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for the Lebanese people and reiterated its commitment to supporting the unity, sovereignty, security, and stability of the Lebanese Republic.
