Russia imposes restrictions on four airports in the Volga region
Moscow, January 8 (Hibya) - The spokesperson for the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), Artem Korenyako, announced on his Telegram channel that restrictions have been imposed on arrivals and departures of aircraft at the airports of Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Kazan, and Nizhnekamsk in the Volga region.
A representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency stated that the restrictions were imposed "to ensure the safety of civil aviation flights."
In Saratov, the restrictions were lifted at 05:30 Moscow time, in Ulyanovsk at 07:00, and in Kazan and Nizhnekamsk at 08:00.
Korenyako stated: "During the restrictions, no aircraft were redirected to alternative airports. The aircraft crews, air traffic controllers, and airport services took all necessary measures to ensure flight safety."
Earlier, the Governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, reported a drone attack on Saratov and Engels, the destruction of drones over Engels, and debris falling on an industrial facility in the city.
According to preliminary information, no injuries were reported.
