Russian general killed in bombing attack in Moscow
Moscow, Dec. 22 (Hibya) – Russian Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov was killed in a bombing attack on Yasenevaya Street in Moscow.
Svetlana Petrenko, the official spokesperson for Russia’s Investigative Committee, said that the person killed in the incident in southern Moscow was Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
The statement said: “According to investigators, on the morning of December 22, an explosive device placed under a vehicle detonated on Yasenevaya Street in Moscow. Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, died as a result of his injuries.”
The Investigative Committee of Russia had earlier reported that one person was injured, a vehicle was damaged, and an investigation had been launched into the incident in southern Moscow.
According to the statement, the killing of General Sarvarov is linked to Ukrainian special services.
