Saidov: We are deeply concerned about the tensions in the Middle East
Tashkent, July 24 (Hibya) - Uzbek Foreign Minister Bahtiyor Saidov held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Uzbek Foreign Minister Bahtiyor Saidov said that he had a meaningful meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and conveyed Uzbekistan's concerns regarding the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Calling for restraint regarding the situation in the region, Saidov said, "We expressed our deep concern over the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and emphasized that, under these circumstances, maintaining restraint and restoring dialogue are more important than ever."
Saidov also noted that bilateral relations and areas of cooperation were discussed during the meeting, stating: "We discussed ways to further develop the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran. We placed special emphasis on effectively utilizing the existing cooperation potential in trade and economy, transport and logistics, and other priority areas."
Regarding international engagement, Saidov added, "We also reaffirmed our readiness to continue our close and trust-based dialogue within the framework of international organizations."
