SCO Council of National Coordinators meeting held in Pakistan
Islamabad, September 30 (Hibya) - Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar received the national coordinators of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states, along with senior representatives of the SCO Secretariat and the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS), in Islamabad.
According to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with the national coordinators of SCO member states as part of the first meeting of the Council of National Coordinators under Pakistan’s chairmanship.
Dar said Pakistan would conduct its chairmanship in an open, inclusive and constructive manner in line with the “Shanghai Spirit,” based on the principles of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation and common development.
Dar said the theme of Pakistan’s chairmanship was “Transforming Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity,” stressing that the SCO’s shared vision should be translated into tangible cooperation and concrete results.
Dar also drew attention to Pakistan’s preparations to host the SCO Council of Heads of State in Islamabad in 2027 and called for close coordination among member states to ensure a successful chairmanship.
