Strong gains in US stock markets
Istanbul, September 22 (Hibya) – US markets showed a strong and broadly positive, buying-driven performance during the week’s trading session.
The Dow Jones (DJIA) index rose 0.71 percent to 52,048.83 points. The S&P 500 index gained 1.49 percent to reach 7,764.70 points.
Led by technology stocks, the NASDAQ index rose 2.26 percent to 27,122.094 points, while the NASDAQ 100 index gained 2.83 percent to reach 30,482.353 points.
The Russell 2000 (RUSS 2K) index, which tracks small-cap companies, rose 0.52 percent to 2,875.36 points.
